Absetzsyndrom
Beim Absetzen bestimmter Antidepressiva kann es zu verschiedenartigen und unterschiedlich ausgeprägten unangenehmen Nebenerscheinungen kommen. Die häufigsten Erscheinungen sind
- Schwindel und Gleichgewichtsstörungen
- Motorische und innere Unruhe
- Tics
- Schlafstörungen
- Verdauungsprobleme
- Kopf- und Gliederschmerzen
In schwereren Fällen kann es auch zu Desorientierung kommen.
Verursacht wird das Absetzsyndrom durch eine störung im Stoffwechsel der Neurotransmitter im Hirn.
Betroffen von gelegentlichen Absetzsyndromen sind insbesondere die sogenannten Serotonin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer (SSRI) und die Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer (SNRI), entweder bei Bestehen einer besonderen Empfindlichkeit oder – meist – bei zu raschem Absetzen. Die Symptome treten nur vorübergehend auf und bilden sich nach Stunden oder wenigen Tagen vollständig wieder zurück.
Zur Vermeidung eines Absetzsyndroms empfiehlt man grundsätzlich, bei der Beendigung einer antidepressiven Behandlung das Antidepressivum über mehrere Tage hinweg „auszuschleichen„.
